The students were encouraged to "show", not tell in their writing. Show, don't tell is one technique used in personal narrative writing that allows the reader to experience the story through action, descriptive words, thoughts, senses and feelings. The word that the student needed to show is written above/below the description. The students had a great time with this activity!
